Dear Friend,
As you probably know, the Technical Committee TC301 of ISSMGE (Preservation of Monuments and Historic Sites) organizes an International Symposium (IS Napoli 2013) to be held in Napoli in May 2013; enclosed please find a copy of the first Bulletin. It is the second of this kind, the first one having been successfully held in 1996 in honor of the late Professor Arrigo Croce, first Chairman of the Committee which at that time was named TC29.
I ask your support in disseminating this information among your members and any possible interested person, and in promoting the presentation of contributions; the related terms are reported in the Bulletin.
Let me add that the Symposium will offer the opportunity of visiting Napoli in a season when it is at its best. The participants can visit the islands of the bay of Napoli, as Capri and Ischia, enjoying the sea and the shining sun, the music and the food. In May 2013, furthermore, the boats contending America’s Cup will be sailing in the bay, repeating the amazing show just experienced this year.
Last, but not least for people interested in Monuments and Historic Sites, the city of Napoli and its environments offer quite a variety of things to see; churches, castles, statues and pictures, archaeological remains and contemporary arts.
We are confident that many people will take the opportunity, and on our side we are doing our best to make this experience interesting and pleasant.
See you in Napoli next year!
Carlo Viggiani
(Chairman of TC301, ISSMGE)
